We believe that Costa Rica is one of the best kayak low-impact ways to enjoy this amazing area.  The forces of the Pacific Wave action are calmed because of the natural protection afforded the bay.  We also host a very interesting wind phenomena which usually proved very calm mornings and by mid-day, the winds of Papagayo begin to blow.  These winds blow in from the east and provide a nice gentle help if the kayak trip has you out in the bay and you glide along on the calm waters, fish moving around, shoreline, breezes, a delight.

Having spent twenty years working in hospitality here in Costa Rica I must say it has been the kayaking here at the resort which has most impressed me with a direct link to nature, the warmth and serenity of the water combined with the mystery of the depths below.  I have kayaked with whales emerging and diving next to me, fish flying out of the water, clam waters, windy waters.  Off to snorkel,  fishing and just getting a little exercise, early morning or dusk, this is a treat that only a secluded waterfront can offer guests such as we have here at Playitas.

Always a delight and one found by just getting up and walking down to our Playitas beach.  The front desk just needs to know you want to kayak and they will have the boats set up with life-vests and paddle.  Spend what time you must, but experience this closeness to the water, not in it, but afloat like flotsam.
