PACHECO TIDE-POOL HIKE
The
entire resort property (22 acres) takes up ½ of a larger peninsula we call
Pacheco Point. This peninsula point juts out into the bay and it is this
landmass that protects our little cove and beach from the larger Pacific waves.
This peninsula along with our little Punta Vista Bahia point are made from
volcanic flow we believe came from the volcanoes viewed from our guest rooms.
At low tide, you can walk the volcanic shoreline out to the point where various
tidal pools exist offering sea slugs, little fish and various aquatic life
viewing spots. The point has a panoramic view of the entire bay, and the hike
around the point takes you to a 100 meter long multicolored beach the result of
a small coral reef off shore. A continuation on to a walkway out to the public
road brings you full circle to the resort.
Since this hike is on volcanic rock, you must ware shoes or sandals and take the
excursion at low tide.
