Playa Panama Beach
The
resorts second beach accessible from the property by
walking is Playa Panama, a long multifaceted beach
with two other resort located on it. The beach is
about one mile long and offers wonderful beach
strolling in the early morning and at sunset a
spectacular view of the sun sinking into the Pacific
with peninsula's on either side of the bay.
Vista Bahia sits on the far western end of this long
beach and the other end has a substantial buildup of
sandy shoreline with a secluded swimming cove.
Midway down the beach is a nice little Costa Rica
styled resort called Casa Conde which offers to our
guests drinks and dinning.
The
beaches physical characteristics are created by the
bays tidal flows which come into the center of the
bay and then, a gentle current runs parallel to this
beach toward our resort. The pushing current forces
the far or eastern end with sand but as the current
comes up against our little peninsula of Punta Vista
Bahia, it must force its way around and when doing
so the water picks up speed. This speeding water
lifts the lighter material along with the sand and
carries it to our other beach and out into the bay.
This daily cleaning action makes our end of Playa
Panama, the beach's rocky bottom which allows
crustaceans to grab an anchorage and permits
multiple grabs, shelled creatures a foothold and
from that the birds and fish come to eat. Thus, our
end is the fishing and bird watching end while the
far end is swimming and sunset views. Of course, our
resort has the little gentle beach of Playitas for
swimming and snorkeling which is created by that
same peninsula that creates the Playa Panama rocky
bottomed shoreline.
The
bay has seven different beaches and the protection
of the bay redirects the Pacific wave energy around
the entire bay thus reducing wave strength and
height. This calming action allows for kayaking
snorkeling and waters that are warm, 86 degrees and
easily access for swimming and enjoyment.
