Water Tours

Surrounded by unspoiled dry tropical forest and dazzling topography, the Gulf of Papagayo is the ideal setting for water lovers.  From world class surfing at Witches Rock to sailing, diving, snorkeling or kayaking.  The waters and their pristine beaches offer this unique experience right from the resorts beachfront.  Because our Vista Bahia Peninsula and Pacheco Point create such a protected cove we call Playitas, our access is unique in that the Pacific wave action has been muted, similar to waves found on small Northern lakes.  We have divided our water access information into details for four different activities but just spending time on our beaches and in the 86 degree water is by itself enough for a vacation!

BEARCH - MANGROVE
The Golfo de Papagayo is immense but within a twenty minute boat-ride guests can access world class beaches, turtle nesting sites and unspoiled Pacific beaches.  Talk to our front dest staff, Luis our boat driver can get you on a three to four hour beach exploration trip.

SNORKELING
From beginners to experienced, our waters offer excellent snorkeling opportunities.  At the resorts beach our little beach with its calm waters and rock walls on either side of the beach to our small coral reefs in the bay, our snorkeling is great. Tours to multiple dive sites are accessed by boat to reefs within a short 15 ride.

BOATING BAY TOUR
A sail or motorboat ride out to look for dolphins, whales or just searching the bay, looking for beaches within the bay, mangrove estuaries found in two different river access.  

KAYAKING
The resort peninsula juts out into the bay which along with our own protected cove, allows kayakers to have access to this wonderland.  The bay’s waters are calm in the morning since the Papagayo winds do not arrive until mid-day.  Those winds which are created by the solar energy and build all day so early morning kayaking is best.  The resort has four kayaks, two singles and two doubles and are free to guests use.hile at Vista Bahia Resort we suggest getting out and experiencing the calm waters of the bay first hand. There are numerous different water tours that can be arranged at the front desk that will conveniently pick you up at the shores of our own beach. Whether you are looking for an exciting fishing experience or a calm relaxing tour of the bay accented by a gorgeous sunset you are sure to have fun while out on the water.
